There is more to lingerie shopping in Tokyo than just princess styles with maxi padding. You will find many small boutiques dedicated to Aubade but for those who are seeking something with a little more variety here are my favourite places to get my lingerie fix.
Gabrielle Peco
Though the layout of the store is a little messy and the rails are filled to the max shopping here feels like a lingerie treasure hunt. This boutique has been around since the mid 80’s, has a store pup called Peco and is jam packed with lingerie by international designers such as Cadolle, Stella McCartney, La Perla, Kriss Soonik, Chantal Thomass and Le Petit Trou just to name a few.

Il Felino
A really young trendy lingerie boutique which stocks local indie brands as well as international designers such as ELF Zhou London, Kriss Soonik, Bijoux Indiscrets, Murmur, Dora Larsen just to name a few, for the complete list check out their website. They also hold little parties every few months to launch new collections and it’s always fun to sip on some bubbly and browse all the new goodies. This boutique has been great for me to check out new designers I haven’t seen in the flesh but they cater to smaller sizes so while everything is beautiful it’s mostly window shopping for me as they don’t carry my size. The largest they stock up to is 32C might be lucky to find a 32D. They also have their own brand called An.g which is worth checking out if you are looking for a little lingerie souvenir. This place is definitely a must for lingerie shopping in Tokyo.

Isetan Shinjuku & Seibu Shibuya
The department store is always good to scope out what’s on the market and these two department stores are probably the only ones with anything worth checking out. Some of the main brands they both stock are the classics like Aubade, Chantal Thomass, La Perla and sometimes Mimi Holliday and Stella McCartney. The service however is a bit too much for my shopping style, lets just say you will not be left to shop alone.

In a city of over 10 million I had high hopes for meeting like minded lingerie addicts. Sadly the dreams of relocating and finding a lingerie gang fell flat, it was different in Tokyo, so many people yet still no lingerie culture but alas times are changing and these few places held me over.
Do you have a favourite boutique I should visit?
