Though I love wearing and writing about luxury lingerie I often get asked about more affordable brands. As I don’t usually wear cheaper lingerie on the spectrum it’s what my readers ask about the most. I’ll try to explore this area more this year because I totally understand not everyone can afford to spend that much on lingerie as we addicts do. When Dorina offered to send me something from their AW19 range I thought it would be a great start.
I didn’t know what to expect, this was unchartered territory for me. When I received my new goodies in the mail I was pleasantly surprised at how much I actually liked them.

The Brand
I don’t know much about this brand but what I do know seems to be on the sunny side. The company is very transparent about their ethical standards which is always a good sign. Dorina is a German lingerie and swimwear brand that has been around since the late sixties.
They have expertise in fuller bust sizes and are committed to sustainability by introducing more ECO-fibres in their collections. 100% sustainable packaging with no virgin plastic and paper will be used from 2020. 99% of their products are OEKO-TEX certified and they are devoted to celebrating the female body by not editing their products images. So I’m here and glad to give them a try.
The Details
I pay a lot of attention to all the pretty little details. When I saw the images online and the bow on the panties were beige, and the bow on the bra was green it made me uneasy. I couldn’t handle non perfectly matched details. Glad to say when my set arrived both the bows were green, phew! This set was adorable.

Let me introduce you to “Tara” which is part of Dorina’s Eco line. The line uses regenerated fabrics, organic produced cotton and laces that are less impactful on our planet.
The Bra

The bra comes in three different styles, a non-padded bra, t-shirt bra and a soft bra which I opted for. It has scalloped edging, is double layered with beige mesh, beige lace with floral embroidery and green scalloped edges. I love the longline style soft cup, and it gives a nice shape and enough support for a soft cup.

The straps are thick which is always a bonus for me, especially on wireless bras. The straps are the only adjustable part of the bra which is fine for me as the bra fits me pretty well. To finish it off the sliders are rose gold. You can also style this piece as outerwear since the design of lace gives decent coverage. Available in sizes XS-XL, I’m wearing a size L and it’s been really comfortable to wear all day during these hot sweaty summers.
The Bottoms

The bottoms are comfy and cute but nothing special. I would have loved them if the scalloped edging continued on the back of the briefs, or at least were seamless. This is probably the weak point for me as the set looks really cute from the front, but quite boring from behind. Available in size XS-XXXL, I’m wearing them in a size M.

The Quality
For the price point, I am impressed with the quality. It’s been one of the few bras in the rotation over the season and has held up quite well.

Do you want to see more affordable brands or do you come here for luxury/indie brands? I’d love to know what you want me to feature in 2020!
Till the next set.
