If you were to peep into my wardrobe right now there is one brand that is starting to dominate and that is DSTM (Don’t Shoot the Messengers). For anyone that has known me since the beginning of my blog you would know my aesthetic as very feminine, pastels, ribbons and all the frilly things! A few years ago I would not have pictured myself wearing these sporty-chic designs that didn’t have a ribbon detail in sight. I only admired DSTM from a distance, loved on others but not on myself. Alas, the time has come and this is as far out of my comfort zone I am willing to travel.
Today it is one of the brands I reach for daily. Both for underwear and outerwear, heck even swimwear because the brand is so bloody versatile!
When making lingerie purchases I always consider wearability. I always take into account If items can be incorporated or styled as outwear. DSTM ticks all these boxes and encourages conscious shopping. I invest in pieces that can be worn all year round and these pieces are perfect for layering during the colder months or on their own.
DSTM hails from Berlin, Germany and is made by family-run ateliers in Bulgaria. What I love most about the brand is not just that I always feel like a futuristic space babe in their designs, but the versatility of their pieces. The fabric provides lift and support without the use of underwires. All pieces can be mixed and matched to create your own unique shapes with their fun cutouts and mesh panels.
I wear my pieces to death and I’ll admit, it is due to DSTM that I decided to play more with black. Layering shapes and textures, I was now ready to dress for the many sides of the moon.
Try them and tell me you aren’t hooked. I’ve even got my eye on a special treat to wear for Christmas!
Till the next post.
